Heart Enslaved

I saw her, leashed;
A beautiful creature
of free world, as if
her soul sucked out.

Her feet scurried, once;
upturned soil showed.
Now she lay, her
master's pet, a slave.

Freedom - not a choice-
her burly master gave;
deep gash on
her neck showed.

Obedient slave now,
no more master of self.

Burly master looked down,
moist in eyes.
Better a loving Satan,
than an uncaring god.

Chained she was
cursing the master,
cursing herself,
cursing the world.

Because, once free,
drawn as moth to fire;
she drawn to love,
to be burned.
